Effect of Insecure Attachment to Smartphone Addiction Tendency of Korea Coast Guard
Abstract
The work of the Coast Guard to prevent maritime accidents and crimes entails risks and suddenness. Due to the main characteristics of ship work at sea, the organization's vertical structure and rigid environment also negatively affect the values and mental health of Coast Guard officials. This environment causes psychological exhaustion in the Coast Guard and negatively affects the relationships within the home and organization, which can hinder attachment stability. As a result, a high smartphone addiction tendency was confirmed in the Coast Guard, who showed a tendency to avoid the interaction of others. The Coast Guard, as a collective, should take the initiative to ease the hierarchical communication structure within the organization and promote emotional exchanges between colleagues, creating an open communication culture at the team level. It is necessary for each member to be proactive in solving fundamental emotional problems and preventing smartphone addiction by detecting and managing unstable attachment problems early through regular psychological state checks and cognitive behavioral therapy.
