Effect of Job Risk on Depression in Coast Guard: Focusing on the Moderating Effect of Resilience

Abstract

Coast Guards carry out various tasks, from maritime accident rescue to border protection. As much as the Coast Guard work, the duties of the Coast Guard come with unexpected risks. The job risk of the Coast Guard is noted as a chronic factor influencing the depression of the Coast Guard. This study verified the effect of job risk on depression and the moderating effect of resilience on it for Coast Guard in Gunsan. As a result of the study, it was confirmed that job risk had an impact on depression, and resilience was found to have a moderating effect on the relationship between job risk and depression. Based on the research results, policy needs, and measures to reduce the job risk of the Coast Guard were suggested. The development of programs to strengthen the resilience of the Coast Guard and the introduction of related policies were proposed.
