Abstract

Recently, the government has developed and promoted a plan to update certification regulations, including abolishing, consolidating, and improving inconvenient certification to ease the burden on small- and medium-sized businesses. In line with government policy, the regulations surrounding the inspection system for marine pollution-prevention materials and chemicals are also being eased. The main goal is to abolish inspections conducted before product sales and to introduce a follow-up management system, such as regular inspection and collection inspection for products that have received type approval. This study aims to replace the current marine pollution-prevention materials and chemicals inspection system with a reasonable method that allows product quality to be continuously maintained. We propose a follow-up management system suitable for prevention materials and chemicals after examining problems with the current system and investigating major product-certification systems at home and abroad.
